00:107Exercise prescription for your client
You are a personal trainer and working with a client to
meet his/her fitness needs. Choose your client based on
the slides posted under week nine. Or you can make up
your own client. Please describe your client’s health
history and fitness goals. Please be specific. Do not say
that your client wants to get into shape. Does your client
want to increase stamina, strength, muscular endurance,
lose weight, maintain weight, etc. All of these fitness
goals are different and you will create a fun and unique
workout to help your client achieve these goals. Think
outside the box on your workouts. Don’t just use the gym
since right now, people want to get outside and take
advantage of the warm weather. You are not limited to a
boring workout. Consider training in a park or hiking a
local hill. Will you use high intensity interval training?
What specific exercises will your client perform and how
will you measure the intensity of the workout (heart rate,
perceived exertion, a talk test)? Please consider the
importance of warm-up, active stretching, main workout
in which your client sustains an elevated heart rate. Will
you focus on strength or endurance, or both? Also,
choose exercises that your client will enjoy and be able to
perform. How will you challenge your client to work
hard, but not build up too quickly, too fast so your client
is susceptible to injury. How will you motivate your
client to work hard? Don’t forget to end your client’s
workout with stretching. Also, provide frequency,
intensity, duration or exercise, and specific types of
exercises in your workout.
