Among the common functional health patterns is the nutritional, the cognitive, sexuality, cope, value, activity, and health perception of patients. These functional health patterns help nurses in performing comprehensive health assessments among their patients. Functional nursing patterns allow nurses to develop a full understanding of the past and the current health of patients (Karaca, 2016). Specifically, the comprehensive analysis of a patient can be achieved through functional patterns. Nurses can make informed diagnosis as they perform detailed tests and examinations on the patients. This way, the nurses can give the right medication to patents regarding their present and past medical conditions.
